College: Coggin College of Business
Degree: Bachelor of Business Admin.
Major: International Business
Effective Term: Fall 2021
The Osprey Map provides a term-by-term sample schedule for each undergraduate academic program at the University of North Florida. It is designed to guide students in the selection of courses each term. The "Mile Marker" courses in the right-hand column are those courses that should be completed before or by the end of that term. Following the sample schedule, and completing the mile marker courses at the appropriate point of your undergraduate career, will facilitate graduation in four years. The term-by-term model assumes full-time enrollment. For students enrolled part-time, the sample schedule and mile markers should be followed based on the number of credits completed. The Osprey Map should be used in consultation with an academic advisor.

The major in International Business (IBS) prepares students for careers in the global marketplace by supplementing their knowledge of general business issues with courses that teach functional business areas from a decidedly international perspective.

Career Planning
Engaging in career planning activities is significant to student success. UNF offers customized career centers to deliver targeted programs, events, services and resources. First-Year and Exploratory students should visit the Career Services webpage and Sophomore or higher level students with a declared major in the Coggin College of Business should visit the Coggin Career Management Center.

Visit the Coggin study abroad advisor, and the Coggin Study Abroad webpage for a current list of Coggin study abroad opportunities.

Students should refer to their personalized Degree Evaluation provided by an academic advisor and to other university resources for additional university and college-specific policies. Visit the undergraduate university catalog for more information.

Summer terms may be utilized to facilitate graduation in four years.

  • Visit the university catalog for a list of General Education requirements. An Associate in Arts (AA) degree from a Florida public university, state college or community college satisfies UNF general education and Gordon Rule requirements. Math selection for First Time in College (FTIC) students is contingent upon Math Placement exam results, SAT/ACT math scores, the student’s major and/or credit received through accelerated mechanisms (Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, Dual Enrollment, etc).

  • Visit the International Business Program webpage for a list of IBS prerequisites and foreign language requirements. MAN 2652 Introduction to Global Business OR GEB 1011 Foundations of Business are recommended Free Electives. A "C" grade or higher is required in all prerequisite courses.

Two Regional Studies courses completed in Term 6 and Term 7 must be from a particular region of the world. One of these courses must also satisfy the Coggin Cultural Diversity requirement. Consult a Coggin academic advisor.

  • Internship must be completed during junior or senior year. Visit the International Business Focus section for Internship information and consult a Coggin academic advisor.

  • Students must complete an application for MAN 4720 Strategic Management Business Policy (Term 8) and adhere to an application deadline the semester prior to course registration. Review the Business Policy Application Materials and consult an academic advisor in the Coggin Academic Advising Office. Students must have a minimum, cumulative and upper-level GPA of 2.0 prior to registering for MAN 4720. MAN 4720 may only be taken in the final term of enrollment.

Consult an academic advisor, the university catalog and visit the Civic Literacy webpage for additional information.

  • IBS students must complete an international academic experience. Visit the Coggin study abroad advisor, and the Coggin Study Abroad webpage for a current list of Coggin study abroad opportunities. IBS majors must complete a minimum of 4 weeks abroad.
