College: Coggin College of Business
Degree: Bachelor of Business Admin.
Major: Business Management
Effective Term: Fall 2013
The Osprey Map provides a term-by-term sample schedule for each undergraduate academic program at the University of North Florida. It is designed to guide students in the selection of courses each term. The "Mile Marker" courses in the right-hand column are those courses that should be completed before or by the end of that term. Following the sample schedule, and completing the mile marker courses at the appropriate point of your undergraduate career, will facilitate graduation in four years. The term-by-term model assumes full-time enrollment. For students enrolled part-time, the sample schedule and mile markers should be followed based on the number of credits completed. The Osprey Map should be used in consultation with an academic advisor.

The Management major is designed for students interested in the fields of business, manufacturing, and other types of organizational management. The curriculum has been developed to include a combination of business, technical, and behavioral courses in order to prepare the student for employment in a business or other for-profit or non-profit organizations. Visit the Coggin Career Management Center webpage for employment information. Click on the Students tab of the Career Services webpage for major exploration information.

Students should refer to their personalized Degree Evaluation provided by an advisor and to other university resources for additional university and college-specific policies. Visit the undergraduate university catalog for more information.

Summer terms may be utilized to facilitate graduation in four years.

  • Visit the university catalog for a list of General Education requirements. An Associate in Arts (AA) degree from a Florida public university, state college or community college satisfies UNF general education and Gordon Rule requirements. General Education Math selection for First Time in College (FTIC) students is contingent upon Math Placement exam results, SAT/ACT math scores, the student’s major and/or credit received through accelerated mechanisms (Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, Dual Enrollment, etc). Coggin students will satisfy the six semester hours of General Education Mathematics and three of the six semester hours of Social Science with required Program Prerequisites.

  • Visit the Department of Management webpage for a list of prerequisites.

  • Students must earn additional Free Elective credit if needed to satisfy the university minimum 120 total semester hours for graduation.

  • GEB 1011 Introduction to Business is a recommended Free Elective for Management majors. MAN 3025 Administrative Management is required for nearly all other Management Courses and should be completed in Term 5.

  • For a list of Coggin Cultural Diversity courses (Term 7), and for additional information visit the Coggin Student Services Office webpage. Visit the Coggin study abroad advisor, and the Coggin Study Abroad webpage for a current list of Coggin study abroad opportunities.

  • For Business Electives (non MAN prefix) in Term 7 and Term 8, students choose the following prefixes at the 3000/4000 level: ACG/BUL/ECO/ECP/ECS/FIN/GEB/GEO/MAR/REE/RMI/TAX/TRA/GIS (excluding GEB4113). For Management Electives in Term 7 and Term 8, students choose a 4000 Level course with MAN/GEB prefix. TRA 4202 may be taken to satisfy one of these Management Electives.

  • Students must complete an application for MAN 4720 Strategic Mgmt Business Policy (Term 8) and adhere to an application deadline the semester prior to course registration. Review the Business Policy Application Materials and consult an academic advisor in the Coggin Student Services Office. Students must have a minimum, cumulative and upper-level GPA of 2.0 prior to registering for MAN 4720.
