The Osprey Map provides a term-by-term sample schedule for each undergraduate academic program at the University of North Florida. It is designed to guide students in the selection of courses each term. The "Mile Marker" courses in the right-hand column are those courses that should be completed before or by the end of that term. Following the sample schedule, and completing the mile marker courses at the appropriate point of your undergraduate career, will facilitate graduation in four years. The term-by-term model assumes full-time enrollment. For students enrolled part-time, the sample schedule and mile markers should be followed based on the number of credits completed. The Osprey Map should be used in consultation with an academic advisor.

The mission of the International Studies Program is to endow students with knowledge of international studies as a discipline and with the skills necessary to become effective global citizens. The departments of Communication, Economics and Geography, English, History, Philosophy, Political Science and Public Administration, Sociology and Anthropology, and Languages, Literatures and Cultures cooperatively provide students with an interdisciplinary curriculum that captures the wide-ranging historical, political, geographical, economic, social, and cultural forces at play in an increasingly interdependent world. A required study abroad component ensures that students experience the world they study and cultures other than their own. Visit the International Studies webpage for additional information. Students should refer to their personalized Degree Evaluation provided by an advisor and to other university resources for additional university and college-specific policies. Visit the undergraduate university catalog for more information. Summer terms may be utilized to facilitate graduation in four years. Visit the university catalog for a list of General Education requirements. An Associate in Arts (AA) degree from a Florida public university, state college or community college satisfies UNF general education and Gordon Rule requirements. General Education Math selection for First Time in College (FTIC) students is contingent upon Math Placement exam results, SAT/ACT math scores, the student’s major and/or credit received through accelerated mechanisms (Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, Dual Enrollment, etc). Students must study a language through the Intermediate level (or demonstrate equivalent proficiency) and must undertake an international educational experience (Study Abroad). Visit the International Center's Study Abroad webpage for additional information. Students must take Major Electives appropriate to their concentration within the major. A minor is required for this degree. The minor must be selected from the list of approved minors, including those outside the college of the major. See a list of minors in the undergraduate catalog. Minors are generally completed during the last 60 hrs of your program. Your minor may require prerequisites, so choosing a minor early is beneficial. See your academic advisor to declare a minor. Double majors are exempt from a minor. A minimum of 120 hours (48 hours at the upper 3000/4000 level) is required for the bachelor's degree. Students may need to complete Free Elective credit at the upper level (3000/4000) to satisfy the minimum 48 semester hours of upper level hours for graduation. A course offering sheet is available each semester summarizing the courses offered by each department that count toward the International Studies major. This information is available through the College of Arts and Science Advising Office, the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) and from the Program Director. While many courses are offered at night, a student cannot complete this major exclusively at night. A selection of Major Required courses is offered fall and spring semesters, but each individual Major Requirement is generally offered once per year. The Capstone Seminar (INR4930) is currently offered in the fall and spring terms. Most Major Required courses are not available during summer terms.
